About Ohio Haunters Association

Uniting Ohio’s Haunted Attractions Through Community, Education, and Innovation. The Ohio Haunters Association (OHA) is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to supporting and strengthening the haunted attraction industry across the state of Ohio. Whether you’re a seasoned haunt owner, an aspiring scare actor, or a creative spirit behind the scenes, the OHA exists to bring haunters together through collaboration, education, and statewide events.

Why Ohio?

Ohio stands as a national leader in the haunted attraction industry. With a dense population, diverse landscapes, and a deep appreciation for Halloween culture, Ohio is home to more haunts per capita than nearly any other state. This concentration gives us a unique advantage and the OHA is here to foster growth, competition, and camaraderie among haunters from every corner of the state.

Unlike other states where haunts are scattered and disconnected, Ohio offers an unmatched opportunity for collaboration. The OHA taps into this strength to build bridges between haunts, helping them thrive together rather than compete in isolation. Our MissionThe Ohio Haunters Association is more than just a group, it’s a toolkit for haunters. Our mission is to provide education, connection, and inspiration through in-person events, online resources, and hands-on training. We believe that when haunts work together, the entire industry grows stronger.Through our association, members gain access to:

  • Actor Training Seminars – Teaching performance, safety, improvisation, and haunt etiquette.
  • Owner & Operator Workshops – Covering business operations, legal compliance, marketing, tech integration, and more.
  • Make-and-Take Events – Creative workshops where builders and artists can learn, share, and create props and scenic elements.
  • Exclusive Online Tools – Member resources, downloads, forms, and business materials available through our website.
  • Networking Opportunities – Bringing haunters together to share stories, challenges, and solutions.

The OHA operates as a 501(c)(7) nonprofit social club, meaning all membership dues and event fees go directly toward supporting our programs, events, and resources for the Ohio haunt community. Please note that dues and contributions are generally not tax-deductible.
